The City of San Diego is pleased to provide a series of free informational presentations for City-serviced residents about the Organic Waste Recycling program and the new green bin and collection schedule. Please note that these are informational presentations only, and not where residents pick up green bins or kitchen pails.
These presentations are offered as virtual Zoom webinars or in-person workshops at select locations. In-person workshops will offer free compost for your garden and other giveaways. City-serviced residents are encouraged to register after they have received their official notifications from the City that their home will be receiving a green bin.

Miramar Greenery to You: Compost, Mulch & Wood Chips Workshop – South San Diego
Wild Willow Farm & Education Center 2550 Sunset Ave, CAJoin this workshop to learn how your home’s organic waste is processed into compost at the City’s Miramar Greenery composting facility. Come learn about the benefits of applying compost, mulch and wood chips to your garden, landscape or farm. FREE compost samples will be provided to attendees!
Interpretation services are available upon request. Please indicate language preferences during registration at least 3 days in advance of the event. Language accommodation may not be guaranteed if requested within 3 days of the event.
